Our Journey of Innovation
Tassells Farm, founded by Dr. Muturi Njoroge and Dr. Susan Nyambura in 2005, blends tradition with innovation. We’re transforming dairy farming through cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices, shaping the future of agriculture in Kenya and beyond.

Start
The Beginning
Tassells Farm is owned by Dr. Muturi Njoroge and Dr. Susan Nyambura, a couple from farming communities in Central Kenya. By 2006, both were running their own cow businesses in different ways, before their marriage in 2010. In 2010, they merged their operations and registered their business under the name "Tassells Enterprises." They realized that local dairy activities were facing significant challenges that required a new approach. Many farmers had accepted these difficulties as part of dairying, which motivated Tassells to research and learn from leading dairy institutions and farms in Denmark, New Zealand, and Israel.

Progress
Pioneering Change
By 2015, Tassells Enterprises launched a modern farm in Ruiru, Kenya. Despite the substantial challenges faced, such as replacing obsolete agricultural practices with dairy agribusiness models, Tassells pushed forward. Cultural ideologies and business structures were also not favorable, but they persevered. Tassells introduced innovative ideas, such as the first-ever Milk ATMs (milk vending machines) in Kenya, real fruit yogurt, ESL milk, and the embryo transfer breeding method. Extensive training in intensive animal care, cow comfort, staff training, feeds production, and dairy technologies became the foundation of Tassells’ success.

Growth
Growth
By 2015, Tassells Farm Limited was officially incorporated and has steadily grown to become a leader in dairy farming in the region. With a strong focus on dairy cattle, dairy goats/sheep, and East African camels for milk production, Tassells has expanded its operations to include production, processing, and marketing of dairy livestock and products. The farm also offers consultation services and has built extensive data on livestock rearing across Africa. Tassells continues to partner with various institutions and organizations, aiming to make its mark on the global stage.

Future
Looking Ahead
As Tassells Farm looks to the future, it remains committed to sustainability and technological advancement. With ongoing innovations in dairy farming practices and continued collaboration with international agricultural institutions, Tassells aims to shape the future of the dairy industry in Kenya and beyond. Their journey is a testament to the power of vision, hard work, and collaboration in overcoming challenges and creating a thriving agribusiness that benefits the entire community.
